Nature Connects Lego Sculptures

In 2018, I had the pleasure of visiting an exhibition of "Nature Connects", a traveling collection of large-scale Lego sculptures by Sean Kenney, featuring these sculptures integrated with gardens and arboretums to create a stunning blend of natural and artificial beauty. As a life-long Lego enthusiast, I'm always intrigued by cool Lego projects, and while Lego sculptures aren't my primary personal interest, I'm keenly aware of just how complicated it is to design a Lego sculpture from scratch, and I have endless respect for anyone who can do it well. And this is very much an exhibition that needs to be seen to be appreciated, because the sheer scale of these creations is truly impressive.

While I don't feel that photos can really do this experience justice, I tried my best with the images in this gallery. I highly recommend seeing it in person, if possible, and if you live in Virginia and missed your chance in 2018, the show is coming back to the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester for May 27 through September 4, 2023! Additional locations and dates are listed on Sean's website (linked above) several years in advance, so if northwestern Virginia is too far for you, keep an eye on the list! And in the meantime, I hope you enjoy these photos.
